A few days ago, Xiaomi announced that it would not release a Beta for devices older than 1 year. That statement only applies to the Chinese version. The statement made for the global version is very sad for MIUI users.
MIUI has two layers of beta testing – one, closed beta which has a more unstable ROM and is restricted to a limited number of testers and second, an openly available public beta which is mostly stable and stocked with features that are almost ready to be integrated into the stable builds.
According to Xiaomi, users are using the beta to test new features, not to report bugs or make suggestions. That’s why Global MIUI engineers put an end to Beta to produce more stable ROMs and update the Stable version faster. However, this situation will not cause disconnection with users. They will keep in touch with the new community.
“MIUI Beta is not a primary way to experience new features, but more a means for experienced users to test the software and provide suggestions. As the MIUI experience has matured, the need for stability is becoming increasingly more important. In order to meet the demands of most of our users and release stable version updates more frequently, our team of engineers has decided to stop releasing the global version of MIUI Beta for all devices starting July 1, 2019.
Despite this, we will continue to communicate with our users on various platforms and concentrate on improving the stable version of MIUI. In fact, this will enable developers to provide a better optimized stable version of MIUI ensuring a great experience for all. All the required security updates will still be delivered to every user in a timely manner.”
Good thing is that Xiaomi will still provide Regular Stable Update for All the devices.
