Last year in a 10th-anniversary event in China, Xiaomi launched Mi 10 Ultra, their most premium flagship. Besides that, they launched one more ultra in the same event, is Redmi K30 ultra. These two ultras receive many applauds from global but didn’t make it to the global markets. Many Xiaomi Fans wanted the K30 Ultra as Poco F2 but the F2 never came. Here’s all the details we have known so far
The device has been in development by Xiaomi for 4 months. Famous leaker Xiaomiui was first spotted in April. The device was codenamed with amber/agate. And it will come with a MediaTek Dimensity CPU, 120 Hz 20:9 AMOLED display, and a high-resolution triple or quad camera setup. The device will have 2 different models 64MP and 108MP cameras same as seen in many of the Redmi devices and there will be different names for China, India, and Global. As we can assume that the device will be rebranded as a premium Mi smartphone for Global and India. Because we know that Xiaomi has started to grow their Mi brand as a premium smartphone brand in India. And for this reason, the device will compete with OnePlus Nord 2 in Global markets.
Xiaomiui has also found that the device has four codenames. They are “Agate” for China, “Agatein” for India, and “Agategl” for Global and “Amber”’. According to them, “Amber” can be a Poco branding smartphone with the same features and specifications. The model number for these devices has been already in the various certification site. The model number of 108MP will be K11T, which will be exclusive to China and India. And the 64MP model will be K11R and available in the Global market.
Digital Chat Station, the Chinese leakster in Weibo, also confirms that the device will come with a 120 Hz high refresh rate display and 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support. As you can see the upcoming P50 series has a device codenamed Amber same as K40 ultra so it confirms the leak.
As for the camera specs, we have already been told that it will come in two variants. One with a 64MP camera which will use OmniVision’s OV64B40 sensor. And another with a 108MP camera which will use Samsung’s HM2 sensor. They will be accompanied by the ultrawide lens. Both will use the same 8MP IMX355 camera sensor which we found on the K40 series. And they will also feature the Tele macro camera.
DCS also conveyed a piece of information that there will be a new chipset called Mediatek Dimensity 1100U. So we can expect that it will debut with Redmi K40 Ultra. But the thing is there is no official release date for the device and Xiaomi hasn’t teased about the launch date. So we can expect that Xiaomi will launch the K40 Ultra in the next month in China and then after a week or two they will announce in the Global Market.
